Beef Tallow is renowned as the premier fat for frying or broiling, because it has:
Steadfast Beef tallow is made from suet ("Kidney Fat") sourced from healthy, pasture-raised cattle, from family-owned ranches in Montana. We shake our ranchers' hands and walk their lands. This is how we know this stuff contains nothing but clean fats and fat-soluble vitamins.
This tallow is made from "Leaf" fat, the fat that protects the kidneys and other essential organs in cattle.
This fat actually serves a similar protective function in many human cells, reducing inflammation and oxidization. This is why our ancestors prized animal fat, before the advent of heart disease and cancer.
I ordered The Brick and have used all of it as an addition to my beans and lentils. The object being to add some animal fat to my diet. This worked but the Brick was difficult to cut so I thought I would try just tallow.
I have been using that in the same way by adding some to my beans and lentils but have also used it to stir fry vegetables with fish. That has worked well.
I ordered two jars and when I received the shipment one jar was broken and I sent an email to Steadfast telling them what had happened. The tallow in the broken jar was not permeated with glass and I was able to clear away any on the surface. However, Steadfast went beyond what I expected and sent me another jar. A good place to do business!
Tallow (Pasture-Raised Beef Fat)
received it promptly. Used it to cook a few thing and it did great. I think it added a bit of flavor to what I was cooking also.
