We took traditional-style Pemmican and swapped in pork lard, instead of tallow. The results made our taste buds go wild. Hog-wild.

How to use this Spread:

• Mix into soup, pasta, or rice and beans.
  
• Spread on toast.
• Add to a salad dressing (seriously).
• Spoon it straight out of the tin (our favorite).

Lard has a few key differences from tallow: With less saturated fat, lard is softer at room temperature. And to us, it tastes even better than tallow (don't get us wrong, we love tallow). Because all of our lard comes from pasture-raised, outdoor-living hogs at Red Bird Acres farm and My Brothers Farm, it is chock-full of Vitamin D.

NOTE: some of the luscious lard will accumulate at the bottom of the tin. We recommend spooning it out in whole columns (top and bottom) so that you get the right consistency. The extra lardy bites are our favorites.
