•Salted - just dried beef, rendered tallow, and salt.
•Seasoned - with salt, pepper, onion, garlic, and a touch of honey. Tasty flavor.
•Unseasoned - just dried beef mixed with rendered tallow. Good for pure carnivore diets.
**Currently the USDA guarantees two years of shelf-stability in our pemmican, though this is extremely conservative - because traditionally pemmican lasted for decades.

I have never tried pemican but have read about it over the years. I finally decided to give some a try and I love it. It is very tasty and my body absolutely loved it. I didn’t have any digestive issues, zero bloating, and I feel like I could eat it endlessly without any issues.
It’s too bad that the ingredients to make it are so expensive. Because if I could, I would eat a bar for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can also see why people used it for survival purposes. It’s easy to store, easy to carry and loaded with energy. If you are fat adapted, I can see that you could survive perpetually on just pemican.
I will try other brands, but I thought this product was delicious and I tried both the spiced version and the no spice version. Loved them both. Also love the packaging. I know you’re not buying it for the packaging but kudos to the marketing team. It’s a great brand.
I also like the fact that it supports the ranching community. They are true heroes and I think we will find out more and more that carnivore based foods make healthier people. It has made a big difference for me and I’m very appreciative that ranchers do their thing.
Joe, thanks for your great feedback! We put a lot of love into the packaging, so we're glad you enjoy that, too. And we'll pass your kind words along to the ranchers at Old Salt Co-Op and B-Bar Beef, they will love to hear it.
Being in the field constantly moving and emplacing. When that break comes, this hit the spot. Especially since I’m on a carnivore diet. Pretty solid choice.
Thanks June and awesome pics!
I have read about pemmican since I was a youngster. The flavor reminds me of chipped beef minus the gravy. More importantly, it helped me maintain energy through my afternoon. I can see how munching on a bit here and there will keep me moving even in the worst case scenarios. Pack one bar in my go bag.
Probably the most legitimate Pemmican I ever had. Lots of places advertise pemmican but this is the real deal and easy to get.
But first...
This is really good pemmican. Now, I'm not a huge fan of eating pemmican straight from the package, and Steadfast is no exception. However, take half a chunk, throw in the old cook pot with some water, bring to a boil, add some ramen, bring to a second boil, stir... best meal for the trail ever! It's a five star meal! You can get two meals out of a single package, but if you're feeling it, it can make one big stew.
Only four stars for two reasons: its way expensive, especially to buy in bulk. Oh well. Second reason is there's no way to get this but online. AND if you forget to order it... priority two day shipping... OUCH!!!
A note to Steadfast. Great product. Thanks for taking care of the hiking community, guys. Love you.
David, that's a fantastic way to eat it. 'Ra-mmican' is a staple in the high country. Wish we could ship for cheaper. Hopefully we'll be in outdoor stores nationwide within a year or three.
Very delicious!
Bought 2 for my car and home bug out bag. Although I haven't sampled them, I ve been looking at making my own for many years. A valuable addition to any emergency kit
I subsisted on the three hours bars for a week during a birding trip to West Virginia with a group of 12. As everyone else ate their breakfast danishes, bread, and granola bars, I ate this bar and stayed satiated and alert while everyone else was falling asleep in the van between stops. I opened a new bar each day, folded over the top, and fastened it with a binder clip. I kept the folded-over and clipped package in a small insulated bag in my backpack (although I doubt it needed to be in an insulated bag). Each time I needed a bite, I'd remove the clip, open the package and break off a piece. Super easy with virtually no cleanup, very satiating, and no glucose spikes. This bar is a must for traveling carnivores.
Beef stew flavor! I’ve been wanting to try pemmican for decades. This is my first taste. The granular texture took some getting used to but the beef stew flavor of the seasoned 3hr bar was good. I used one bar to fuel my 11.5 mile hike and I was pleasantly surprised with how well I performed and how good my stomach and body felt. I’m also amazed with how light and compacted it is. This would probably be a great backpacking food as you wouldn’t need any cookware, stove, or fuel.
